To date, the cumulative power generation across Beijing's hydropower stations has surpassed 500 million kWh. Specifically, the cascade hydropower stations along the mountain gorge section of the Yongding River have generated over 400 million kWh this year, setting a new record high for the same period in history.
Beijing currently operates eight hydropower stations, with a total installed capacity of 216 MW. These include four cascade stations along the mountain gorge section of the Yongding River, the 82-MW Baihe Hydropower Station, and three small hydropower stations in Huairou District. Additionally, three projects, including the Chaohe Hydropower Station, have been identified as having potential for restoration.

Guanting Hydropower Station
The cascade hydropower stations along the mountain gorge section of the Yongding River comprise four facilities — Guanting, Xiamaling, Xiaweidian, and Moshikou — with a total installed capacity of 131 MW. Their power output has been rising steadily.

Baihe Hydropower Station
Baihe Hydropower Station is located southwest of the main dam of the Baihe River of Miyun Reservoir and serves as an integral component of the Miyun Reservoir project. The station is equipped with four conventional turbine generator units and two pumped-storage generator units, all of which were independently developed and manufactured in China. Notably, Unit 2 of Baihe Hydropower Station is China's first domestically designed and manufactured pumped-storage generator unit, capable of both power generation and pumped storage operations.

Xiamaling Hydropower Station
Located northeast of the main dam of the Chaohe River, Chaohe Hydropower Station has been mothballed for many years. A feasibility study on resuming its operations is currently underway.
