Recently, the Panda Duck, a nationally protected Class II animal also known as the "panda of birds", was spotted in the southern area of Baifuquan Park.
Mergellus albellus, also known as the smew, is affectionately called a "Panda Duck" by locals because of the distinctive black patches around its eyes that resemble those of a giant panda.
This species is highly selective about its habitat, relying especially on freshwater lakes and rivers that have excellent water quality and robust ecosystems. Its appearance at Baifuquan Park reflects the park's well-preserved ecological environment, where both water quality and vegetation conditions meet the habitat requirements of rare species.

Guidelines for Responsible Viewing
Please stay at least 10 meters away from the wildlife and do not chase or feed animals with human food. When taking photos, turn off the flash and avoid making loud noises to prevent disturbance. Please do not litter and help protect the park's ecosystem.
