The 2024 Beijing Urban Rail Transit Construction Plan was recently officially released. This year will see the early operations of the Phase I of Line 3 (Dongsishitiao-Dongfeng), Line 12 (Sijiqingqiao-Dongfeng), and the remaining part of the Phase I of the south extension line of Changping Line (Xitucheng-Jimenqiao), which span approximately 45.3 kilometers in total. Beijing's urban rail network will subsequently reach an operation mileage of more than 880 kilometers.

The Phase I of Line 3 (Dongsishitiao-Dongfeng) will have 10 stations, including six transfer stations.

Line 12 (Sijiqingqiao-Dongfeng) will consist of 20 stations, with 13 transfer stations. Once complete and open for traffic, it will provide transfer options to passengers for the other 12 subway lines, including Lines 4 and 5.

An additional station will be built for the remaining part of the Phase I of the south extension line of Changping Line (Xitucheng-Jimenqiao), along with one added interval. The entire line will be fully connected once it is finished and open to traffic, making it easier for locals to travel along the line.

Concurrently, the planning and construction of two Phase-III projects, namely the Phase I of Line M101 and the branch of Line 1, have fully started. Beijing will proceed with the construction of ten active lines and sections, which will total 201.7 kilometers.
