To upgrade shuttle bus services for subway stations and resolve the long-standing "last-mile" challenges for passengers of the city's public transit systems, Beijing has rolled out, for subway stations with high passenger volumes, targeted plans to launch short-distance shuttle bus routes with high service frequency and rapid vehicle turnaround (hereinafter referred to as the "high-frequency short routes"). The stations involved this time include Shahe Station, Tongzhou Beiguan Station, Beiyunhe Xi (W) Station, and Wukesong Station, among others.

On June 1, three newly planned high-frequency short routes around Shahe and Tongzhou Beiguan subway stations began trial operation.
Two routes serve Shahe Station, connecting 11 residential communities located to the south and east of the station, such as Xinleisha (鑫磊沙) and Yuxinxincun (于辛新村).
The route involving Tongzhou Beiguan Station connects 12 communities in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, including Luyuanjiayuan (潞苑嘉园) and Zhujiangguoji (珠江国际). It enables seamless transfers between these residential clusters and Subway Line 6. More such routes will be launched in response to passengers' demands.
Besides, a new high-frequency short route has already entered trial operation at Beiyunhe Xi (W) Station, delivering faster transit services to Line 6 for residents across 10 residential communities including Langfangyuan (朗芳园). The trial operation has received positive feedback, and the route is expected to officially enter service soon, subject to passenger flow data and passengers' feedback.
Meanwhile, Wukesong Station is preparing to introduce one to two additional high-frequency short routes based on a section of an existing bus route. Preparatory work is currently underway.
