To facilitate the construction of Line 1's branch line and link it with Line 1, Gucheng and Babaoshan stations on Line 1 will be temporarily closed from February 15, 2026. Trains on Line 1 will turn around at Yuquan Lu Station during this period. The two stations are expected to resume operation after the renovation and construction are completed by the end of May 2026. Pingguoyuan Station on Line 1 will also open for service at the same time, enabling interchanges among Line 1, Line 6 and S1 Line.
As an important rail transit line serving areas including Shijingshan and Fengtai districts, Line 1's branch line has now entered its full-scale construction phase and will be operational by June 2027. The junction between the branch line and Line 1 is to the east of Bajiao Amusement Park Station. Through construction and modification of this junction, the branch line will be connected to Line 1 at Bajiao Amusement Park Station upon completion. As Babaoshan Station does not have the capacity for train turnaround, Line 1 trains will terminate at Yuquan Lu Station for turnaround during the construction phase. Gucheng and Babaoshan stations will be temporarily closed throughout this period, and passengers are advised to plan their trips in advance.
To minimize the impact of the service suspension on passengers, Beijing's municipal and district transportation authorities will take multiple measures, such as optimizing the operation of Line 1, increasing the transportation capacities of ground buses, deploying more shared bicycles, and adding non-motor vehicle parking areas, to ensure travel convenience for residents living nearby. Specifically, on-site passenger flow management will be strengthened at Yuquan Lu Station on Line 1 and Yangzhuang Station on Line 6, and temporary shuttle bus services will be launched at Yuquan Lu Station and stop by Babaoshan and Gucheng stations to facilitate their smooth transfers to Line 1. The transportation capacities of the connecting bus routes (No. 76, 337, and 373) serving Yuquan Lu Station will also be enhanced.
