Beijing's rail transit network has seen new progress as the construction of the northern section of the R4 Line (Phase I) is set to officially commence this year. Spanning approximately 21.3 kilometers across Shunyi, Chaoyang and Tongzhou districts, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2029.

It is learned that the project starts from Guanzhuang Lu Xikou Station in Chaoyang District in the south and ends at Yanjingqiao Station in Shunyi District in the north. It comprises five stations, which are, from north to south, Yanjingqiao Station, Linhe Station, Zhongde Chanyeyuan (Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park) Station, 3 Hao Hangzhanlou (Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport) Station, and Guanzhuang Lu Xikou Station.

Phase I of R4 Line will serve areas including the Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park.
Two of the planned stations will function as transfer hubs: Guanzhuang Lu Xikou Station for Line 3, and 3 Hao Hangzhanlou (Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital International Airport) Station for the Capital Airport Express, S6 Line and more.
