On November 14, BII Railway Transportation Technology Holdings Company Limited issued a public notice that the Capital Airport Express plans to add one station: Wangjing Nan (South) Station, where passengers can transfer to Subway Line 14. Construction of the station is preliminary scheduled to commence in December 2024 and is expected to be completed in December 2027.

According to the plan, the project of Wangjing Nan (South) Station will build a new foot bridge beside the sidewalk near Entrance C of Subway Line 14 and use Entrance C and barrier-free entrance and exit to divert the passenger flow.

With the new foot-bridge, passengers can transfer to Line 14 at the same station. This increases the number of interchange stations along the Capital Airport Express, with the number of the interchangeable lines to reach five.

After the completion of this station, residents of the Wangjing and Jiuxianqiao areas can directly reach Beijing Capital International Airport and the downtown area via the Capital Airport Express which will become a new rail transit option for commuting out of the two areas.
