Beijing's Green Travel Promotion Month arrives every September. This year, three subway lines and sections, spanning 45.3 kilometers, will be put into use, namely Phase I of Line 3 (Dongsi Shitiao Station - Dongfeng Station), Line 12 (Sijiqing Station - Dongfeng Station), and Phase I of the south extension of Changping Line (Jimenqiao Station and its outward section). The test runs of these three subway lines and sections are currently underway.
In addition, Zhufangbei Station on the south extension of Changping Line, Exits B and C of Yizhuang Railway Station on Yizhuang Line, Exit D of Xingong Station on Daxing Line, Exit A2 of Futong Station on Line 14, and Exit D2 of Xueyuanqiao Station on the south extension of Changping Line will be opened.
Moreover, efforts will be made to promote the commuter rail operation in suburban areas, and to upgrade project for the Sub-Center Line (Beijing West Railway Station to Liangxiang Station). Urban construction indicators will be focused on micro rail centers; stations will be integrated into the city; the first 71 micro rail centers, including Fengtai Railway Station, Huoying Hub, and Lize Terminal, will be built. These efforts are aimed at the enhancement of the transfer efficiency at the hubs, and the creation of an energetic urban center.
In terms of ground public transportation, Beijing underlines optimizing and adjusting routes and stations along the rail. A total of 34 bus routes have been optimized. A total of 349.1 kilometers of unnecessary routes have been cut out. Four subway stations, including Raolefu, have bus stops for transfer within 50 meters. In addition, as part of the efforts to diversify services, 11 routes are now available exclusively for medical care purposes, while 21 routes are open for tourists.
