►The identity document of the motor vehicle driver; where an agent is authorized to handle the application on behalf of the driver, the identity document of the agent must also be submitted. If the application form is not signed by the principal, a separate power of attorney may be submitted. A written power of attorney is not required for individuals who have applied for authorization online through the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile app.

►A "Driver's Physical Condition Certificate" issued by a medical institution at or above the county level designated by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission or a medical institution at or above regiment level designated by the military or armed police forces;

A "Driver's Physical Condition Certificate" issued by a specialized medical institution designated by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission is required for a driver's license for a Small Automatic Passenger Vehicle For People With Disabilities; 

A paper certificate is not required for individuals applying and submitting all the required materials online;

►Three photos of the driver. (Photo requirements: front facing, head uncovered, color, single person, half-length photos of the applicant, not in uniform, taken within 6 months of the application against a while background, clear, layered, neutral facial expression, and free of obvious distortion. Photo size: 32mm×22mm (equivalent to 1 inch), head width 14-16 mm and length 19-22 mm.)

Eligibility:

► Holding a driver's license for a large bus, tractor-trailer, city bus, medium-sized bus, or large truck without any demerit points for the current cycle. Holding driver's licenses for any other vehicle types must have less than 12 demerit points for the current cycle;

►Holding a driver's license for a large bus, tractor-trailer, city bus, medium-sized bus, or large truck with demerit points for the current cycle or a driver's license for another type of vehicle bearing equal or greater responsibility for a traffic accident causing death, not having had the motor vehicle driver's license revoked and participated in "educational validation";

►No outstanding road traffic safety violations or accidents;

►Physical condition satisfying the driver's license requirements;

►Satisfactory memory, judgement, and reaction skill test results for applicants over 70 years old;

►Driver's license has not been previously seized, impounded, suspended, revoked, canceled, or withdrawn;

►An applicant holding a driver's license issued by another province or city who apply for the license renewal and verification upon expiration in this city, in addition to meeting the above conditions, is also required to apply for a transfer and renewal at the same time.

►Overseas Chinese citizens unable for whatever reasons to return to China before the end of 2023 to renew or verify their driver's license may complete the necessary procedures within six months after returning to China to regain their driving qualifications.
