►Where an applicant is holding a driving license for a Large Bus,a Towing Heavy Trailer, a Tractor, a City Bus, a Medium-Sized Bus, or a Large Freight Vehicle, the applicant must not have accumulated any points during the current scoring cycle. Where an applicant is holding a driving license for any other permitted vehicle type, the applicant must not have accumulated 12 points or more during the current scoring cycle;

►Where an applicant is holding a driving license for a Large Bus, a Towing Heavy Trailer, a Tractor, a City Bus, a Medium-Sized Bus, or a Large Freight Truck and has accumulated points during the current scoring cycle, or where an applicant is holding a driving license for any other permitted type and has been equally or more liable for a traffic accident causing death before, the applicant must not have had their motor vehicle driving license revoked and must have participated in "verification education";

►The applicant has no pending record of a violation of road traffic safety laws or a  traffic accident;

►The applicant's physical conditions meet the requirements for a driving permit;

►An applicant aged 70 or above that passes the memory, judgement and reaction skill tests;

►The applicant's motor vehicle driving license has not been legally seized, impounded, suspended, revoked, canceled, or withdrawn.

►Where a driver holding a motor vehicle driving license issued by another province or city is applying for renewal and verification of their motor vehicle driving license upon expiration in this city, the driver must, in addition to meeting the above conditions, apply for transfer-in renewal of the license.
