Starting from September 26, the advance reservation period for the ticket reservation service being piloted on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway will gradually shift from 17–60 days before departure to 17–30 days before departure.

Passengers can submit their reservation requests through the "Ticket Reservation" (预约购票) section of the "Railway 12306" (铁路12306) mobile app. On September 26, tickets for travel before November 24 can still be reserved. During the transition period from September 27 to October 26, November 24 will be the earliest travel date available for reservation. Starting from October 27, passengers will be able to make regular reservations for train tickets from the 30th to the 17th day before departure.

Since the ticket reservation service was launched on a trial basis on July 20, railway authorities have optimized the system to improve passengers' ticket booking experience. From September 26 onwards, the maximum advance reservation period will gradually be reduced from 60 to 30 days to further help passengers plan their trips. Apart from the change to the reservation period, all other services and rules for the pilot service on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, including ticket fulfillment, refunds and changes, remain the same.
