Dazhong Temple Ancient Bell Museum

Previously known as "Juesheng Temple", the temple is commonly known as "Dazhong Temple" ("dazhong" /大钟 means "big bell" in Chinese) for housing a huge bell cast during the Yongle period (1403–1424) of the Ming Dynasty.

The temple covers a total area of 30,000 square meters, with the Bell Tower as its most distinctive building, which houses the Yongle Big Bell, a national treasure of China. The bell stands 6.75 meters tall with a diameter of 3.3 meters and a weight of 46.5 tons. Its body is fully inscribed with Buddhist scriptures, mantras and epigraphs in both Chinese and Sanskrit, with a total of more than 230,000 characters. The Yongle Big Bell was also included in "Beijing's Must-Visit Tourist Spots" for holding the world record for the largest number of inscriptions on a bell.
