On July 16, the Global Sustainable Transport Best Practices Compilation 2025 was released at the United Nations Headquarters. Beijing's MaaS (Mobility as a Service) for Urban Green Travel initiative, led by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, is included in the Compilation as a typical case of China's green transportation development. Its innovative ideas and practical achievements were highly praised by representatives from various countries and international organizations.

Since launching China's first integrated green travel service platform—Beijing MaaS—in November 2019, Beijing has focused on green and integrated development. It has made significant progress in government-enterprise collaboration, data-driven empowerment, service upgrades, and institutional innovation.

Beijing MaaS currently provides solid support for integrated services by sharing with leading platforms like Amap and Baidu Maps 14 categories of traffic data across four areas, i.e. ground public transport, rail transit, parking and related services, and road network operations.

Beijing MaaS deeply integrates open and shared data with intelligent computing algorithms to deliver full-chain travel services such as real-time bus/subway station arrival and crowding information, real-time alighting reminders, accessible transit navigation, and one-click ride-hailing for seniors. These have significantly enhanced the public's green travel experience.

Beijing MaaS leads the world in establishing a full-cycle system linking green travel, carbon emission reduction, market trading, and user incentives. It is able to accurately quantify individual travel-related carbon reductions. The "MaaS Travel, Green Life" initiative is now an ongoing program. Participants can redeem public transit cards, shopping vouchers, and gifts, or make charitable donations. Verified carbon emission reductions have reached a total of 450,000 tons to date.

After nearly six years, Beijing MaaS has become the preferred green travel option for tens of millions of users. The platform has served over 30 million in total, with 5.6 million real-name registered users under the carbon inclusion program.
