According to Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport on December 4, 71 subway stations in Beijing now have a total of 113 passages connected to surrounding buildings, enabling people in these buildings to enter and exit subway stations conveniently.

To develop "rail-based micro hubs", Beijing will continue introducing convenient amenities to subway stations to better integrate subway station functions and urban services. Businesses like barber shops offering no-shampoo quick haircuts, bakeries, and fast food carts will open at subway stations on a trial basis.

To enhance operating efficiency, Beijing Subway has been taking optimization measures to shorten the departure intervals of trains. Currently, the departure intervals of seven lines have been shortened to around two minutes. In terms of travel convenience, in addition to the full support of mobile payment methods such as Alipay, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay across the entire network, Beijing Subway also enabled train riding with foreign Visa and MasterCard cards in September 2024.

In recent years, Beijing has encouraged subway operators to properly utilize underground space at stations by converting eligible station premises into convenient facilities. So far, 87 convenience stores, 2 stores featuring creative cultural products, and 2 blood donation houses have been put into operation. A total of 2,117 self-service machines such as vending machines (including those selling trendy toys) and ATMs are also available. Additionally, 14 convenient food carts, 40 flower cabinets, 48 lockers, 33 power bank stations, and 4 intelligent fresh drink counters have been set up.
