The 6th Taihu Jazz Festival will soon take place from April 30 to May 5. Under the theme "Jazz It Up", it will bring together over 330 artists from 11 countries and regions, and feature 10 upgraded stages presenting nonstop jazz performances from sunset to late night throughout the Labor Day holiday (May 1 to 5).
Several Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated artists will grace this celebration, including Steve Smith (voted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame and named as one of the "Top 25 Drummers of All Time"), Luedji Luna (a winner of the Latin Grammy Award for Best MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) Album), Kenny Barron (a "living legend" of jazz piano, with 14 Grammy nominations) and other top musicians. A strong lineup of Chinese jazz artists will also present the unique sound of Chinese jazz.
The festival will also feature immersive experiences blending art and technologies. VR programs such as "Le Bal de Paris" (巴黎舞会) and "Tracing National Treasures" (国宝迷踪) invite visitors to explore the fusion of technologies and jazz. Other exciting highlights include face-to-face sessions with maestros, jazz dance therapy, robot performances, and dazzling jazz light shows.
Each of the six days has its own theme:
April 30 – International Jazz Celebration
May 1 – Drumbeat Jazz
May 2 – Tropical Jazz Mystery
May 3 – Timeless Improvisation
May 4 – Jazz Carnival Night
May 5 – Closing Ceremony—No Goodbye
Jazz vibes fill every corner of the park throughout the event.
