A large number of cranes and wild ducks have recently been arriving at the Yeyahu National Wetland Park, a Wetland of International Importance in Yanqing District. This park is the largest wetland nature reserve in Beijing and a crucial stopover point on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. In recent years, with the improvement of the ecological environment and the strengthening of conservation efforts, this area has become a habitat and migration stopover for numerous rare bird species.

The Lugezhuang watershed of the Qingshui River in Taishitun Town, Miyun District, also had flocks of swans flying in from the mudflats in Miyun Reservoir, forming a mixed flock of whooper swans, tundra swans, and mute swans wintering together in one pond.
