On October 29, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital held a conference to announce the development achievements of the Beijing Engineering Research Center of Orthopaedic Surgery Robot. To date, supported by the National Center for Orthopaedics, the hospital has established China's first multicenter real-world database for orthopaedic surgery robots, with more than 6,000 robot-assisted surgeries performed in its smart orthopaedic research ward.

Established in 2021, the Beijing Engineering Research Center of Orthopaedic Surgery Robot focuses on overcoming bottlenecks in key technologies and major equipment development, while establishing an integrated municipal platform for R&D, clinical validation, and remote training of orthopaedic surgery robots. The database systematically collects clinical data, including surgical duration, equipment margin of error, and preoperative and postoperative planning, helping research teams identify and resolve issues to drive continuous iterative upgrades of orthopaedic surgery robots.

To date, the hospital has performed more than 1,500 remote surgeries via its 5G-enabled remote surgery platform, and multiple pieces of core equipment have completed the closed-loop transition from technological breakthrough to clinical application. A series of innovative breakthroughs across multiple clinical scenarios, including trauma, joint, and spine surgery, vividly demonstrates the clinical capabilities of domestically developed smart orthopaedic equipment, such as shoulder replacement robots, fracture reduction robots, and the TiRobot orthopaedic robotic system.
