During the National Day holiday (October 1 to 7), Beijing's cultural and tourism market saw robust growth. The city recorded a total of 23.45 million tourist visits, with the total tourism spending reaching 29.49 billion yuan. Specifically, 126,000 visits were made by inbound tourists, generating 1.37 billion yuan in spending. The top 10 destinations by the number of visits were: Wangfujing, the Liangma River International Waterfront, the Beijing Olympic Park, Xidan, Tian'anmen Square and its surrounding area, Qianmen Street, the Temple of Heaven Park, the Shichahai Scenic Area, Nanluoguxiang (South Luogu Lane), and the Summer Palace.
During the holiday, Beijing rolled out more than 3,000 signature cultural and tourism activities, enhancing distinctive experiences such as waterfront night tours, tours of the Beijing Central Axis, and intangible cultural heritage-centered experiences. The city also leveraged sports events to boost tourism activity, and boosted the ticket-stub economy driven by concerts, offering locals and visitors from elsewhere a diverse range of cultural and tourism experiences during the holiday.
A total of 2,329 commercial performances were staged for 368 productions, resulting in 690,000 on-site views and generating around 230 million yuan in box office revenue. Among the relevant events, the Grand Canal Music Festival featured 16 performing acts and attracted more than 60,000 music fans. The Beijing Symphony Orchestra's 3rd Taihu Classical Music Season, the "National Day Celebration: Classic Peking Opera Showcase" (国庆佳节·经典京剧剧目展演) of Jingju Theater Company of Beijing, and the 2026 NCPA Percussion Festival were also among the highlights.
In addition, public cultural institutions at all levels across the city, including cultural centers and public libraries, rolled out 986 cultural activities for the public in 1,104 sessions, including reading promotion events, intangible cultural heritage experiences and artistic performances, drawing a total attendance of 552,600.
