As of August 5, the Beijing Capital International Airport had inspected more than 10 million inbound and outbound passenger trips this year, up 10.6 percent year-on-year. The 10-million milestone was reached 19 days earlier compared with the previous year.

As China continues to expand the coverage of its visa-free policies, especially the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, a growing number of foreign travelers take Beijing as their top choice when making travel plans. The Capital Airport has inspected 3.302 million inbound and outbound trips made by foreign nationals this year, indicating a year-on-year rise of 27.8 percent. Specifically, 1.182 million entries by foreign nationals were made either under visa-free policies or with temporary entry permits, accounting for 67.7 percent of all inbound visits by foreign nationals.

To meet the growing demand for cross-border/boundary travel, the Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has introduced a range of measures to reduce waiting times for inspection procedures. Multilingual officers are stationed at inspection sites, while fast-track lanes remain open around the clock, supported by fingerprint collection and filing services. A one-stop model has also been introduced for the issuance and inspection of temporary entry permits, allowing every eligible traveler to complete the required procedures in one go.
