Ready to travel around the world without leaving Beijing? The 2026 Beijing International Cultural and Tourism Consumption Expo will kick off on June 5 at the China National Convention Center (Phase II). Scheduled to run alongside the 2026 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference, the expo will feature a B2B trade exhibition, themed showcases, and immersive public experience zones. A series of exciting events in the culture and tourism sectors will also take place, including inbound and outbound tourism promotion sessions, networking meetings for hotels and travel agencies, a city souvenir development forum, and conferences on the digital transformation of the culture and tourism sectors.

This year's expo promises even more exciting offerings. Visitors will be able to explore destinations from around the globe as well as their natural and cultural charm, with culture and tourism authorities from countries including France, Australia, and New Zealand to bring international travel experiences directly to Beijing.

Tourism delegations from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Jiangsu, Guangxi, and many other regions across China will showcase their unique tourist attractions. The 16 districts of Beijing will present their distinctive cultural and tourism offerings, helping visitors discover hidden gems and new ways to experience the capital.

Museums from across China will showcase a wide range of creative souvenirs. The National Wetland Museum of China will offer eco-themed lifestyle products and nature-inspired designs. The China National Museum of Ethnology will display traditional handicrafts and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) products from various ethnic groups.

The Capital Museum will also participate with cultural products and interactive displays based on its special exhibition "Maize, Gold, Jaguars — A Grand Exhibition of Ancient Maya and Andean Civilizations".

Cutting-edge technologies will be another highlight. Visitors can embark on virtual tours and learn more about AI-powered cultural tourism systems, humanoid robots, and digital human technologies. The "Star Express" train of the China Tourism Group will make an appearance at the exhibition area of Xicheng, offering a preview of its unique "slow railway travel" experience. At Haidian's exhibition area, Xiaomi Group will showcase its latest new energy vehicles and smart wearable devices for your hands-on experiences.

Traditional Chinese culture will take center stage here. ICH inheritors will demonstrate their crafts live, allowing visitors to watch and make their own works. The popular traditional tiger-head hats — the type worn by Elon Musk's son — will be available for pre-order at the expo. Food lovers will be in for a treat as well. Beijing's local snacks, ICH delicacies, and time-honored pastries will all be available for tasting on-site.

Beyond all these, visitors can enjoy a variety of interactive activities. This year's expo will launch 12 exclusive commemorative stamps, offering attendees the fun of collecting stamps while exploring the venue.
