Thanks to visa-free entry policies and facilitation measures such as those for payment, communication and transportation services, an increasing number of foreign tourists are now choosing Beijing as their travel destination. This phenomenon has driven growth in the departure tax refund services. In the first four months of this year, Beijing's two airports (Capital and Daxing) handled departure tax refund applications worth a total of 587 million yuan, up 59.08 percent year on year.

At the Beijing Capital International Airport, multilingual signage for tax refund services is visible throughout the international departure channels, and translation devices are also available for foreign tourists. Foreign travelers carrying their suitcases can be seen lining up at tax refund verification counters throughout the terminal. At these verification counters of customs, each verification process takes about 1 minute on average.

At the Beijing Daxing International Airport, long queues have also been spotted at the tax refund counters in the departure hall on the fourth floor. Among the tax-refundable goods purchased by foreign tourists in China, in addition to common items such as shoes and clothes, there are many unique Chinese products, such as ceramics, enamelware, and even electronic products from Chinese brands like Xiaomi and DJI.
