Updates of Tax Refund and Duty Free Store

On the third floor of Dong'an Department Store in the Wangfujing commercial district, a self-service terminal for issuing tax refund application forms has recently been put into use. As of March 31, the terminal had processed 61 tax refund orders, which involved over 100,000 yuan spent by foreign visitors. Compared with before, the average daily number of refund orders and the average daily refund amount have both increased significantly, marking a leap in the efficiency of the capital's tax refund services.
The terminal features a clear user interface, supporting multiple languages including English and Russian. To use it, you can place your passport on the reader, whereby the terminal will automatically complete verifying your identity and other information. After filling in your date of entry, having your receipt's QR code scanned, and signing to confirm, you will be able to receive a tax refund application form in just a few minutes, with no manual intervention required.
The launch of this self-service terminal is part of a broader effort to offer more convenience for inbound tourists shopping in Wangfujing. To date, the commercial district has 105 departure tax refund stores, three stores offering the "instant tax refund" service, and one centralized "instant tax refund" service outlet. What's more, seven large commercial complexes now support payments with foreign bank cards.
