The Peking Insect Museum, the first museum in the Beijing south Central Axis area, officially opened to the public on April 9. Located on the 3rd floor of Building 3, South Central Axis International Culture and Technology Park, No. 15 Nanyuan Road, Fengtai District, the museum spans approximately 4,000 square meters and is open from 10:00 to 19:00 every Tuesday through Sunday.
As the first private museum introduced by Fengtai District using spaces vacated through relocation and renovation, Peking Insect Museum features a distinctive exhibition system by offering both professional and immersive experiences. It integrates the popularization of natural science, public education, aesthetic exhibition, and family-friendly study tours. With its fully-equipped exhibition spaces, guided tour services, interactive experience zones and supporting facilities, the museum meets diverse needs including regular visits, school research programs, parent-child activities and mini thematic communication campaigns. With creative narrative and immersive storytelling, the exhibition has prepared a curated visiting route: Introductory Hall - Hawk Zone - Gray Zone (Neutral Zone) - Butterfly Wall - Dove Zone - Antique Jewelry Finale Hall, forging a cohesive and highly recognizable exhibition narrative.
In addition to its regular displays, the museum features eye-catching zones such as the Butterfly Wall and Antique Jewelry Finale Hall. The former serves as a visually striking spot that is perfect for social media sharing, while the latter juxtaposes insect specimens with antique jewelry to demonstrate "natural prototype — human response". The museum also houses dedicated live insect experience zones and other extended service zones. By offering vivid displays of insect behaviors and their ecological habits, it strengthens the sense of engagement and on-site immersion in nature education.
