Beijing Customs have announced that the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone has recorded a total of 1.06 trillion yuan in goods trade since the launch of the Zhongguancun Forum back in 2007.　　

In the first two months of this year, foreign trade in this demonstration zone has increased, with imports and exports totaling 10.63 billion yuan, up 30.1 percent year on year, 22.5 percentage points higher than the overall import and export growth rate of Beijing during the same period.　　

High-tech products have become the focal point of foreign trade in the Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the total import and export volume. In the first two months of this year, imports and exports of high-tech products in the zone reached 4.04 billion yuan, up 8.7 percent year on year. In particular, trade for products related to electronic technology, life sciences, computer and communication technology, and material technology rose by 38.2 percent, 8.2 percent, 9.0 percent, and 95.2 percent, respectively.
