Subway Line 19 serves as a major north-south transportation backbone in Beijing's central urban area. The Phase II project (north extension and its branch line), now under construction, has a total length of about 24.1 kilometers and includes eight stations, five of which are interchange stations: Beishatan, Qinghe Xiaoyingqiao, Qinghe Zhan (Qinghe Railway Station), Xinlongze, and Shengminggu. The new sections run through three administrative districts: Haidian, Chaoyang, and Changping. Upon completion, it will enable convenient transfers with five existing rail transit lines and the Northeast Loop Line of the suburban railway network.

Five stations are in Haidian: Beishatan, Shangqingqiao Nan (S), Qinghe Xiaoyingqiao, Xisanqi, and Qinghe Zhan (Qinghe Railway Station).

Upon completion, the sections will ensure fast 30-minute direct trips between the West Area of Future Science City and the central urban area. This will greatly facilitate the efficient flow and concentration of factors of innovation (talents, technologies, capital, etc.) and lay a solid foundation for Beijing's development as a center for science and technology innovation.

Meanwhile, the project covers large residential areas such as Qinghe and Xisanqi, thereby filling gaps in the existing rail transit service network. In the future, flexible operations, convenient transfer designs, and a complete non-motorized transportation connection system will significantly shorten commuting times for residents along the line and enhance the travel experience.
