On November 26, a report on the implementation of the Regulations for Promoting Digital Economy in Beijing was released.

According to the report, Beijing has steadily advanced its digital infrastructure and smart city development. Information network infrastructure is being deployed at an accelerated pace, with nearly 150,000 5G base stations built across the city, the highest number in the country. Computing power infrastructure has rapidly been deployed, with accumulated computing capacity exceeding 42,000 petaflops (a measurement of computer speed). The rollout of the municipal sensing IoT system is steadily advancing, with sensing devices for water, electricity, gas, and heating becoming increasingly comprehensive and refined. The capacity of the city operation and command platform has been enhanced, and the adoption of electronic seals for government services is actively promoted, making public services more accessible through the "One-Stop Online Service" system.

The report also notes that Beijing is accelerating the progress of digital industrialization. In 2024, the city's core artificial intelligence industry exceeded 350 billion yuan in scale, with more than 2,400 enterprises. Industry-wide digital transformation continues to deepen, with the "AI+" Action Plan expanding into five scenarios across ten major sectors. Beijing is implementing a three-year action plan for digital transformation in manufacturing, and the city is now home to over 1,700 digital finance enterprises. Digital achievements in education, culture and tourism, healthcare, and other sectors also continue to emerge.
