To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, 10 themed floral displays have just been unveiled along Chang'an Avenue.

"Cherishing Peace"

at Northwest Corner of Jianguomen

The major part of this floral display depicts an Earth emblazoned with the logo of the commemorative events, along with images of doves and olive branches that both signify peace.

"Towers of Strength"

at Northeast Corner of Dongdan

This floral display features iconic symbols such as the pagoda on Yan'an's Baota Mountain and Pingxing Pass, set against stylized trees and mountains, and a rising sun. Elements like millet and date trees are woven into the design to recreate classic historical scenes.

"Ode to the Yellow River"

at Southeast Corner of Dongdan

A carved waterfall, along with real water and mist effects, jointly recreates the grandeur of Hukou Waterfall, while over 20 species of arbors and shrubs, including pine trees, dragon juniper trees and weigela shrubs, form a rich natural mountain landscape. Various other plants depict a spectacular group of horses galloping by the water. Together, these elements compose a truly spectacular and sweeping floral display. It is worth mentioning that this floral bed is accompanied by the famous song "Defend the Yellow River" composed during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, which is played on the hour.

"Passing on the Torch"

The centerpiece of the floral display consists of a plant torch, a plant ribbon, and some "sunflowers". The torch is primarily made up of red wax begonia blossoms to symbolize the burning flames, while the "sunflowers" are actually ensembles of red, green, and yellow grasses that highlight vitality.

"United We Stand"

at Southeast Corner of Dongdan

This display depicts the magnificent landscape of the Great Wall, as well as the silhouettes of figures and the sculpted stone lions on Lugou Bridge.

"Prosperous Development"

at Northeast Corner of Xidan

This floral display is designed to capture the spirit of workers in various industries and sectors. Its main structure is adorned with plant species such as reed canary grass, wax begonia, and coleus, vividly sketching a picture of prosperity and vitality in this thriving society.

"Empowering the Country with Science and Technology"

at Southeast Corner of Xidan

Honeycomb shapes and cargo containers form the background, which are made with newly developed premium plant varieties. At the foreground, you can find a natural combination of red and yellow plants surrounding a plant replica of the Shenzhou-20 spaceship, while blue and white varieties are used by the MV Xue Long 2 ship section to simulate the ocean and broken ice. The transitional flower borders seamlessly connect the various parts of the intelligent container scene.

"Rural Revitalization"

at Northwest Corner of Xidan

The main body of the floral display depicts an apple tree, fields, and a mountain. At the front, vegetables such as chili peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, eggplants, and rosemary are planted in flower boxes, showcasing a novel rural development model that integrates agritourism with economic self-sufficiency.

"Green Life"

at Southwest Corner of Xidan

The main elements of this floral display include lotus flowers and leaves, a ribbon, buildings, a small bridge, and small trees. The swallow-shaped kite on the plant ribbon represents an intangible cultural heritage technique, presenting the pattern of a classic lotus kite. The ground plant landscape unfolds through two main themes—river and grassland. The left side evokes a classical ambiance through lotus flowers, while the right side depicts the warm scene of a modern family camping on the grassland.

"Bright Tomorrow"

at Northeast Corner of Fuxingmen

Among the flowers in this giant bouquet, the dandelions symbolize "hope and resilience"; the yellow peace roses speak for "happiness, glory, and peace"; the lilies embody "blissful fulfillment, pure innocence, and solemn sanctity"; and the tulips signify "everlasting friendship".
