On July 29 (UTC+8), the official website of World Aquatics announced that Beijing will host the 2026 World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m). The city will welcome over 1,000 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries and regions for this six-day competition.
Beijing is the world's only city to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics as well as the Summer and Winter Paralympics, enjoying an exceptional reputation within the international aquatics' community. China has previously hosted 109 World Aquatics events, including the 2011 World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai. The upcoming World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) will mark China's third time hosting this event, following the sessions in Shanghai (2006) and Hangzhou (2018).
