Dongxicha Hutong, just a few steps from Miaoying Temple (which is also known as the "White Pagoda Temple"), officially opened on the evening of July 12. In the meantime, the first "Welcome the New Life: New Charms of the White Pagoda" (迎新生・白塔新韵) themed consumption season was launched, offering one-stop experiences that blend culture, commerce, and tourism for residents and visitors alike.

An immersive Beijing Opera performance honoring the hutong culture
Based on the popular Miaoying Temple Food Festival, the upgraded consumption season will run through September 30. During the event, nearly 20 brands popular on social media platforms will also release exclusive offers and discount coupons through the Douyin account "Baita IN" (白塔IN).
During this consumption season, a series of cultural events, such as those featuring painting, photography and literature, will be launched. Visitors can not only savor local dishes and marvel at the charm of Beijing's hutongs, but also take part in activities such as the "Four Seasons of the White Pagoda" (白塔四季) themed photo exhibition. Several thematic travel routes have also been introduced to enable tourists to marvel at the charms of the Miaoying Temple area. One of the routes allows tourists to learn about the historical and cultural heritage of the White Pagoda through the literary works of Lu Xun (a renowned Chinese writer).
The Miaoying Temple area has been actively promoting the integration of culture, commerce, and tourism, resulting in the opening of one first store in Beijing and ten first stores in Xicheng. The White Pagoda Art Center (白塔艺术中心) and "White Pagoda's Love" Cultural Center (白塔之恋文化中心), both of which opened in June, regularly host thematic cultural exhibitions, providing immersive cultural experiences for visitors.
