The long-awaited Beijing Suburban Railway Northeast Ring Line has taken a major step forward.
The Beijing Suburban Railway Northeast Ring Line project (from Guanghua Road Station to Beijing Chaoyang Station segment) will construct a new double-track railway using a tunnel method, with the line reaching approximately seven kilometers long.
It is expected that the construction bidding will officially commence in July this year. The Northeast Ring Line commences at Guanghua Road Station, traverses stations including Beijing Chaoyang, Wangjing, Shahe and Changping, and terminates at the existing Beijing-Baotou Railway's Nankou Station. The route passes through Chaoyang, Haidian and Changping districts.
The newly renovated Northeast Ring Line will feature a total of 16 stations: Guanghua Road, Sihui, Shifoying East, Beijing Chaoyang, Jiuxianqiao, Caochangdi, Wangjing, Beiyuan, Lishuiqiao, Huoying, Xinlongze, Shengminggu, Shahe, Shahebei, Changping and Nankou. Among these 16 stations, 10 are newly constructed while six are refurbished existing stations.
It is reported that the operating hours for the Suburban Railway Northeast Ring Line are from 6:00 to 23:00 daily, spanning 17 hours.
The Northeast Ring Line features multiple stations sharing names with existing subway stations, such as Sihui, Beiyuan, Lishuiqiao and Huoying. This naming alignment indicates future transfer capabilities with subway lines including Line 1-Batong, Line 5, Line 8, Line 13, and Line 19 Phase II.
