Participants watched the documentary "Hotline Beijing", which vividly portrays the practices of Beijing's innovative governance mechanism "Swift Response to Public Complaints" of the city's 12345 Citizen Service Hotline. With the film as a medium to build a bridge for cross-cultural exchanges, this event has shown the world the warmth of the Chinese-style modernized urban governance.
The documentary Hotline Beijing authentically captures real-life cases handled by the Beijing 12345 Citizen Service Hotline, illustrating how it responds effectively to citizens' needs and complaints. Attendees were impressed by the innovative solutions demonstrated in the management of car parking within Beijing's traditional hutongs and moved by the compassionate efforts involved in installing elevators in older residential buildings. The film also highlights the dedication and personal growth of hotline operators, as well as the tireless efforts of the secretaries of various sub-districts. Additionally, it explores the steady legislative progress supporting the "Swift Response to Public Complaints" mechanism, shares compelling stories of foreign journalists uncovering objective truths through meticulous investigation, and captures tense, high-stakes moments during emergency responses... Many international attendees found themselves deeply touched, with some moved to tears, openly praising the film and sharing their heartfelt feelings.
