Several medical institutions in Beijing have recently opened weekend clinics to extend service hours for auscultation and testing to accommodate office workers and students who cannot seek medical treatment on weekdays and meet the diversified medical needs of patients.
Peking University First Hospital has recently expanded its weekend outpatient services. Both its headquarters and the Daxing District branch have opened general and special outpatient services on weekends, with 45 fully operational clinical departments. The auscultation and testing platform for weekend clinics operates on the same schedule as weekday service hours, allowing patients to undergo imaging, ultrasound, bloodwork, and other tests on the same day. This effectively addresses the issue of limited test availability on weekends. Moreover, Peking University International Hospital has recently introduced a gynecology Sunday clinic, with service hours from 8:00 to 24:00.
Several community health service centers have recently optimized their weekend outpatient services. For example, the Ultrasound Department of Wangjing Community Health Service Center has opened a clinic on Saturday mornings, meaning that they can run tests throughout the week. The Rehabilitation Department of the Ronghua Hospital in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has opened a Saturday clinic for integrated therapy of traditional Chinese and Western medicines, providing specialized diagnosis and treatment for patients dealing with neck, shoulder, waist, and leg pains.
The weekend services of multiple specialized medical institutions have also been improved. Auxiliary diagnostics, including ultrasound and ECG, are now fully available on weekends at Daxing Maternal and Child Care Hospital, based on 26 weekend clinics. Recently, Beijing Children's Hospital Shunyi Women's & Children's Hospital opened a pediatric endocrine clinic on weekends so that working parents can seek medical care for their children suffering from developmental issues such as dwarfism and obesity.
Beijing will continue encouraging qualified medical institutions to offer weekend and night clinics, weekend surgeries, and other services this year.
