In 2024, Beijing added 200 hectares of urban green spaces and 500 kilometers of new greenways. A total of 20 garden demonstration blocks such as Donghuashi in Dongcheng District, Liupukang in Xicheng District, and Ritan in Chaoyang District, were built. Additionally, 100 roads and streets, including Andingmen East Street and Wulituo East Street, were added with flower beds on their both sides. Other achievements include 300 greened overpass bridges and 20 renovated all-age-friendly parks. The recreational spaces for citizens have thus been expanded, while the city has become more garden-like. Beijing also saw the establishment of 15 leisure parks and urban forests, 50 pocket parks and small and micro-green spaces, 20 tree-lined roads, and four garden villages. The coverage rate of the service radius of the green spaces in parks which can be reached within 500 meters has reached 91 percent, organically integrating green ecosystem and urban development.
