On February 5, Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau issued a notice on the replacement of the old social security cards with the second batch of the third-generation ones, covering more than 3 million employees of the entities enrolled in social insurance in four districts: Haidian, Fengtai, Tongzhou and Yanqing. Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau's official website, the official WeChat account of the Bureau (北京人社), the WeChat mini-program "Beijing Minsheng Yikatong" (北京民生一卡通), and the WeChat mini-program "Jingtong" (京通) are among the online channels through which individuals can, under the arrangements of their employers, apply for the new cards.
