On January 7, the National Alpine Ski Center, also known as the "Xue Fei Yan" (which literally means "a swallow flying in the snow"), welcomed another international competition - the 2023-2024 FIS Alpine Skiing Far East Cup (Yanqing). This is the first international alpine skiing event ever held at the venue following the closing of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
The FIS Alpine Skiing Far East Cup this time consists of five competitions in China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan. The competition in Yanqing is the second and the only speed competition. Throughout the event, Yanqing District has demonstrated excellence in its venue, catering services, accommodation services, transportation services, food safety, and other services to ensure the smooth operation of the competition.
Yanqing has been hosting an increasing number of exhilarating international and domestic high-end ice and snow events, such as the IBSF World Cup Bob + Skeleton, FIS Alpine Skiing Far East Cup, and the alpine skiing competition of the 14th National Winter Games of China. The district has also organized the 38th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival, featuring professional competitions, ice and snow parks, lantern-themed activities, and several tourist routes. Furthermore, Yanqing Olympic Zone, Shijinglong Ski Resort, Badaling Ski Resort, and other winter sports venues are all open to cater to the diverse needs of ski enthusiasts.
