On October 31, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued an announcement stating that in accordance with the provisions of the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China and its detailed rules for implementation, starting from November 1, 2023, at 0:00, travelers entering or exiting China are no longer required to fill out the Entry/Exit Health Declaration Form of the People's Republic of China. However, individuals entering or exiting the country who exhibit symptoms of infectious diseases such as fever, cough, breathing difficulties, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or unexplained subcutaneous bleeding, or those who have been diagnosed with infectious diseases, must voluntarily declare their health status to customs authorities. They must also cooperate with customs officials in health quarantine procedures, including temperature checks, epidemiological investigations, medical screening, sample collection and testing. Failure to disclose or attempt to evade quarantine measures will result in corresponding legal consequences. Those who cause the transmission or pose significant risks of transmitting quarantinable infectious diseases will face criminal liabilities.
