Recently, the Artificial General Intelligence Computility Forum (AGICF) was held during the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Shijingshan District. Focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) computing power, this forum served as a platform for attendees to discuss the approaches of technological innovation and industrial development, to further consolidate the underlying foundation of AI, speed up the release of computing power potential, and promote the high-quality development of the ecosystem of the AI industry.
Xu Xinchao, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, said in his speech that Beijing's digital economy continues to expand with ever increasing vitality and internal driving forces. Xu added that Beijing is accelerating the development of the National Next-generation AI Innovation and Development Pilot Zone and the National AI Innovation and Application Pilot Zone, striving to build itself into a globally influential source of AI innovation.
Xia Xueping, President of the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies (CACS) of the Cyberspace Administration of China, said in his speech that China has obvious technological advantages and application advantages in the AI field. Xia continued that it is necessary for China to further strengthen systematic innovation in computing power and have a good command of the core technologies to accelerate the innovative application of computing power in multiple industries and empower high-quality economic and social development.
Chang Wei, Party Secretary of the CPC Shijingshan District Committee of Beijing Municipality, and Li Xin, Deputy Party Secretary of the CPC Shijingshan District Committee and District Mayor of Shijingshan District, said that in recent years, Shijingshan District has seized the precious opportunity of hosting the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and upgraded its traditional manufacturing industry into a high-tech one. Technological innovation in the digital industries of, such as, smart technologies and virtual reality (VR) are booming, and high-tech industries of modern finance, business services, and new-generation information technology, among others, continue to grow bigger and stronger.
During the forum, three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) gave their keynote speeches respectively themed "Creating a New Ecosystem of Safe and Trustworthy Computing Power", "On Data, Algorithms and Computing Power", and "Research and Exploration of Computing Power Network". They also unveiled related policies in such aspects as exploration and research of the application scenarios of large models, high-quality data sets of Beijing's AI large models, and economic performance monitoring and analysis empowered by the technologies relevant to large models.
In addition, the signing ceremony and launch ceremony of the construction of Shijingshan Intelligent Computing Power Center, the signing ceremony of the large model empowering innovative application scenarios in the field of collaborative office in Shijingshan District, and the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation with Beijing Zhongke Integrated Computing Technology Center, were held during the forum. Besides, the forum also witnessed the release of a series of achievements such as Beijing's first unified development framework of open-source GPU (OGPU2.0), and a large model for China's legal research and legal services.
