Invest in Beijing, Win the Future. On April 25, the opening day of the 2024 ZGC Forum Annual Conference, the 2024 Invest in Beijing Conference was hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
Promotional sessions, sharing sessions, release of results, contract signing, exhibitions, and negotiations... This year's conference displayed Beijing's international advantages in technological innovation, first-class business environment, and development opportunities in more diverse ways. It provided a platform for in-depth interaction between government authorities and enterprises and among enterprises themselves, attracting more projects aligned with the city's functions essential to a capital to take root and grow in Beijing.
Beijing is home to half of China's top talents, best academic disciplines, and best laboratories, with nearly 100 universities and over 1,000 research institutes. The numbers of national high-tech enterprises, "little giants" and unicorn companies in Beijing all rank first among all cities in the country. During the keynote promotion section themed "Invest in Beijing", an official of Beijing stated that abundant innovation resources, a perfect innovation ecosystem, and a robust industrial foundation will provide strong support for enterprises to grow in Beijing.
The event saw the participation of over 400 people, including representatives from Chinese and foreign investment and trade organizations, as well as senior representatives of international business associations, Fortune 500 companies, industrial leaders, and investment institutions.
The English-version industrial maps of Beijing were officially launched online on the same day. Covering the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries across 31 key sectors such as high-end, precision and sophisticated industries and modern service industries, these English maps will further assist global enterprises in understanding Beijing's industrial development.
Serving as the main platform for the development of Beijing into an international center for sci-tech innovation, the three major science cities in Haidian District, Changping District, and Huairou District also sent their representatives to take turns to promote their distinctive investment environments. The representatives showcased Beijing's most dynamic ecosystems for sci-tech innovation and high-end, precision and sophisticated industries, as well as the city's high-quality development spaces and services.
The "Zhongguancun Science City - Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) Cooperation Platform" was also officially launched at the event. In the future, the two sides will embark on practical cooperation in various aspects such as park construction, innovation ecosystem development, technology business incubation, commercialization of new technologies, and science and talent exchange in the sci-tech innovation field.
