Seven rescued migratory birds were released back into the wild on farmland upstream of the Miyun Reservoir after they were successfully rehabilitated. With the migration season in full swing, Miyun District has strengthened its protection efforts for migratory birds to ensure their safety during this period.

The birds released included one great bustard (a type of animals under first-class state protection) and six red-billed choughs, which were all received and treated by the Beijing Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.

The birds were released at Xiaocao Village, Taishitun Town. This area and its surroundings usually welcome a large number of migratory birds during the migration season, as they change habitats or settle down to breed.

In addition to releasing migratory birds, the Miyun Reservoir recently welcomed an "old friend"—swans.

Seventeen swans play in the Qingshui River at the Miyun Reservoir. Every year's migration season, swans would visit the Miyun Reservoir as their "short-stay accommodation" during their southward journey. These swans are the vanguard of migratory birds. They arrived in the Miyun Reservoir in early November and are expected to stay there for a month.
