A series of promotional activities were recently launched in the fifth China International Import Expo for Haidian District's development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "Two Zones"). The press was informed of the district's plans for a Zhongguancun Integrated Free Trade Zone, which, together with the "Two Zones" and the Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, would enable the district to enjoy preferential policies of "Four Zones", ultimately attracting more enterprises to set up there.
Haidian District has performed well since the development of the "Two Zones" two years ago, leading other Chinese prefecture-level cities in terms of the total number of domestically listed companies for many years, the number of patents granted and the amount of patent pledge financing in Haidian District account for more than half of the total in Beijing, and Haidian District has outperformed all other districts in the capital in the business environment evaluation for three years running. In the first half of 2022, Haidian District's gross regional product reached CNY 497.02 billion, accounting for 25.7 percent of the capital city's total. In addition to approximately 10,000 national high-tech enterprises, Haidian District currently boasts more than 260 specialized, high-end and innovation-driven "little giants" that provide distinctive products or services, accounting for approximately 45 percent of the capital's total, and 51 unicorn enterprises, accounting for approximately 20 percent of the national total.
A "Two Zones" investment map was also released with all the information of interest to investors, helping investors and enterprises enjoy worry-free business development in Haidian District.
