Recently, the "Beijing Import and Export Online Fair (South America session)" hosted by Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau and other relevant departments kicked off in Beijing.

The seven-day session has attracted enterprises and organizations from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and other countries. Based on the characteristics and advantages of each country, five thematic exhibitions have been set up, centering around "epidemic prevention supplies and medical health, high-tech products and intelligent equipment, smart life, fashionable life, as well as food and daily necessities".

Beijing and South America have maintained close economic and trade ties. In 2021, the total volume of imports and exports between Beijing and South America exceeded RMB 200 billion, an increase of nearly 10 percent year-on-year. For the next step, upholding the concept of openness and cooperation, Beijing will seize the opportunities brought by the "Two Zones" policy to further liberalize and facilitate trade, investment and talent flow. Beijing will also adhere to institutional innovation and build a world's leading business environment, and make further achievements in foreign trade.
