The constantly improving business environment in Beijing is boosting the development of "Two Zones". In the first quarter of 2022, Beijing has attracted and inventoried 844 new investment projects for the "Two Zones", involving an estimated investment amount of RMB 151.2 billion, which accounts respectively for 34.5 percent and 15.8 percent of Beijing's annual targets for investment attraction.
In terms of funding sources, domestic funded projects accounts for 84 percent of the total, and foreign-funded projects makes up 16 percent. When it comes to regional distribution, new projects in seven districts related to the free trade zone, such as Chaoyang, Haidian, and Tongzhou, make up 51 percent of the total. In terms of industrial division, projects related to the building of an international center for innovation account for 40 percent, while 28 percent of the projects are related to the development of high-end, precision and sophisticated industries, 11 percent to building an international center for consumption and urban renewal, seven percent to the building of a model city for digital economy, one percent to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, and the rest 13 percent to other fields of the "Two Zones" development.
