A press conference was recently held in Changping District to celebrate the first anniversary of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "Two Zones"). According to the press conference, over the past year, Changping has been making continuous efforts in sci-tech, policy, and service innovation, and focused on leading industries such as medicine and health, advanced energy, etc.

Over 1,100 enterprises in key industries have settled down in the district. 56 district-level innovative policies have been implemented, and nearly 100 market entities have enjoyed benefits of the policies. In one year of development, 82 key projects for the "Two Zones" have been launched in Changping, 26 of which have been under construction, such as Xiaomi II, with another 29 projects successfully signed.

Since the launch of the "Two Zones", Changping District has also focused on optimizing the business environment, accelerating the launch of major projects with great efficiency, attracting a number of major projects which have made breakthroughs, set an example for other projects and are in line with the goals of regional development. As of now, among the 168 key projects enlisted for the "Two Zones", 82 have settled down, 26 have been under construction and 29 have been successfully signed.

In the first half of 2021, the GRP of Changping District was CNY 59.32 billion, up 15.9 percent year on year. From January to July, the total output value of industry enterprises above the designated size reached CNY 88.61 billion, up 12.2 percent year on year, making the district the fourth place in the city. The economy is booming, the industry is stronger, the market is more vibrant and the new development paradigm is taking shape at a faster pace.
