The "Two Zones" online promotion conference dedicated to German audience was recently held at the Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center. "Two Zones" refer to the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. At the online event, officials from the Municipal Office for the "Two Zones", Tongzhou District, Fengtai District and Shunyi District introduced their respective policies and local environments for doing business.

Representatives from more than 60 key enterprises, institutions and business associations participated in the online promotion, including Volkswagen Group, BMW Group, Siemens Group, Bayer Group, Continental Group, Fresenius Kabi, German Environmental Drinking Water Technology Co., Ltd., German Cultural and Economic Promotion Association, China-Germany Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, German Center of Living Cell Therapy, German Solar Biotechnology R&D Center  and Sino German Hi-Tech Park.

Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) is a pioneering pilot center for the Municipality to further open up its service industry. It offers various industries in an area that is more than 100 sq.km to primarily cover the 3 key areas of the Canal Business District, Cultural Tourism District and Tongzhou Park of Zhongguancun Science Park.

During the session, officials from the Municipal Office for the "Two Zones" highlighted the background of and history behind the development of the "Two Zones". They also touched upon new opportunities for opening-up and development it has provided, and discussed its relevant policies. Commencement of the development of the "Two Zones" will help Beijing Municipality build on the previous pilot for further opening up the services sector and come up with more open and innovative practices. Access of foreign investment will be further facilitated. Following the implementation of the Negative List for Foreign Investment Access, the administration model of a negative list for cross-border trade in services will be piloted in Beijing Municipality.
