On April 19, Beijing CBD revealed its latest report on the development of the "Two Zones", indicating an exponential growth of high quality enterprises in the area thanks to favorable policies and continuous improvement of the business environment. According to the statistics, since the establishment of the International Business Service Area of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (BFTZ), more than 1,300 enterprises have settled in the CBD, including 120 foreign-funded enterprises, a year-on-year increase of more than 79 percent.

Improving System for Global Investment Attraction

The CBD central area has been an essential part of the International Business Service Area of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone that was officially inaugurated last September. It covers an area of about 7 square kilometers. In 2020, the average land output reached CNY 94.3 billion per square kilometer, and 49 business buildings reported tax payment of over CNY 100 million for each, with the highest one paying up to CNY 10 billion.

On January 3 this year, the CBD Investment Attraction Service Center was officially put into use as the first institution that integrates investment attraction and government services. So far this year, 122 key enterprises have successfully settled down in the center, including Canon, Headquarters for the Chia Tai Group and Netlink Technology, etc.

Continuous efforts have been made to promote the global investment attraction service system. In late March, the Shanghai branch of the CBD Global Investment Liaison Station, the first external liaison station was unveiled to actively introduce enterprises and investment projects into the Beijing CBD.

Assuring Butler Service for Enterprises

The 400-square-meter Investment Attraction Service Center is divided into several divisions, including government services, exhibition and display, global connectivity, comprehensive negotiation, and multi-functional release. All procedures related to enterprise registration can be handled in the center.

Each of the enterprise service butlers will be assigned for 100 key accounts which are separately maintained. Full-process surrogate services will be ensured for registration of the enterprises, while regular follow-up visits will be made to those already registered. By conducting visits and investigations, a list of needs and appeals of enterprises has been drafted by the butlers who in the future will analyze and resolve over 60 demands on the list one by one. The environment for doing business in the CBD has been consistently improved through various measures such as butler services and investigation on enterprise demands.

Breakthroughs from Zero with 15 Business Issues

In the past few months, Beijing CBD has make several breakthroughs from zero and succeeded with 15 cases for business services, for example, the first business license with the BFTZ logo, registration of the first personal credit reporting company, launch of the first pilot program on integrated management of local and foreign currencies, inauguration of the first one-stop service center.

Next, the Beijing CBD will further consolidate its superiority in agglomeration of international resources in Beijing, make continuous efforts to build a highland for opening-up, and work towards the goal of establishing a global first-class business center.
