In September 2020, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) unveiled the High-end Industry Area of China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (BFTZ), adding to policy privileges for the development of a state-level economic and technological development zone and high-tech industrial zone, and for being a part of Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, the comprehensive demonstration zone for further opening up the service sector and BFTZ.

BDA works actively to forge an innovative development pattern based on industries and parks by spearheading to build an international first-class business environment and facilitate the planning of high-tech industries.

According to Kong Lei, Deputy Director of the BDA Administrative Committee, BDA will leverage on the strategic role of policies of the Two Zones for a new round of high-quality development of the zone, and foster its high-level advantages in international cooperation and competition. It will vigorously increase the scale of foreign ventures, build comprehensive bounded zones of special industrial characteristics and promote the construction of international cooperation parks to consistently structure an export-oriented economy and develop a highland for collaboration and opening-up.
