The briefing meeting of High-end Industry Area of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as BFTZ) was held on December 16, 2020 in Daxing District, Beijing. Cui Xulong, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, noted that Beijing will adopt innovative methods by leveraging on the status quo, advantages and focus of planning of industrial development in the High-end Industry Area, to attract foreign investment in high-tech industries and improve quality of industrial development.

The High-end Industry Area of BFTZ covers an area of 39.49 sq.km, including 10.36 sq.km for Beijing Daxing International Airport and 27.83 sq.km for the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA). It will mainly focus on developing industries such as business services, international finance, cultural creativity, biotechnology and big health, and serve the construction of carrier for commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, cluster of strategic emerging industries and hub for international high-end function institutions.

Beijing is vigorously constructing a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the service sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone featuring technological innovation, open service industry and digital economy. The High-end Industry Area is required to maintain existing projects and explore new growth. For new projects, Beijing will increase the effort in expanding the list of potential projects, rolling foreign-invested projects in manufacturing industry, and following up the whole process. For existing projects, Beijing will encourage foreign-invested manufacturing enterprises to increase investment in transformation and upgrading of industries and technologies, investigate and facilitate the landing of supporting projects for  industrial chains, and assist enterprises to solve difficult problems in production and operation to ensure business development of enterprises in Beijing.
