On the morning of November 19, 2020, the Promotion Conference on Investing in Beijing was held during the 23rd Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium. Yang Beibei, Vice District Mayor of the Daxing District, introduced in her speech that with the operation of the Beijing Daxing International Airport, Daxing District, where the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone High-End Industries Area and the China (Hebei) Pilot Free Trade Zone Daxing Airport Area are located, is embracing new development opportunities. Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone (Economic Zone) has entered a stage for substantive construction.

The Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone covers an area of 50 square kilometers, and is divided into the east area and the west area. The east area is positioned to develop aviation logistics with a planned area of about 24 square kilometers. It will focus on the development of industries such as comprehensive bonded warehousing services, aviation logistics, international business, aviation headquarters, and aviation technology. The west area is positioned to guarantee service provision with a planned area of about 26 square kilometers. It will prioritize industries such as international education and international medical service.

In terms of industrial functions, Daxing District will take the international trade industry as the dominant industry, and rely on trade facilitation platforms of the Beijing Daxing International Airport and the comprehensive bonded area to prioritize the development of industries such as aviation logistics, aviation services, life and health, scientific and technological innovation, international conferences and exhibitions. It will also be built into a hub for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, a cluster for strategic emerging industries, and an agglomeration for international high-end functional organizations.

Meanwhile, China (Hebei) Pilot Free Trade Zone Daxing Airport Area will give full play to the advantages magnified by the policies of the free trade pilot zone and the national comprehensive demonstration zone for the further opening-up of the service industry, including the advantages in aspects such as foreign investment access, business environment reform, financial services, administrative management systems and talents attraction. Additionally, it will explore more possibilities for policy innovation during the process of industrial development and talents attraction.

In 2020, the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone has entered a stage of substantive construction. At present, a series of high-quality carriers such as the comprehensive bonded area, international consumption hub, international health industrial park, international exhibition center, international aviation community, international aviation headquarters park, and free trade zone innovation service center has seen accelerated planning and construction, and started simultaneously to attract investment around the world.
