After registration, professionals in the fields of architectural design and planning with overseas vocational qualifications are allowed to apply for Employment and Residence Permits in accordance with regulations, and to provide technical services in the Two Zones(the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone). Their overseas work experience can be treated as domestic work experience.

According to the "Notification on Issues Related to the Provision of Technical Services by Professionals from Hong Kong, Macao and Overseas Regions in the Two Zones" released by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources, professionals in the fields of architectural design and planning with overseas vocational qualifications may be employed to provide services. Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Macao professionals with Chinese certified survey and design engineering qualifications may apply for registration and practice.

Hong Kong and Macao professionals who have obtained qualifications as certified Chinese survey and design engineers (with the exception of Level-II Certified Structural Engineers) can apply for registration at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China. Declaration procedures should be carried out in accordance with the "Notification on Issues Related to the Registration and Practice of Hong Kong and Macao Professionals Qualified as Chinese Certified Survey and Design Engineers or Certified Supervision Engineers".

Hong Kong and Macao professionals qualified as Level-II Certified Structural Engineers on the Chinese mainland can apply to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources for registration. Applicants should also download the free registration management information system for online declarations. Professionals in the architectural design and planning fields with overseas vocational qualifications may apply for Employment and Residence Permits in accordance with regulations, permitting their employment by survey and design enterprises in Beijing and provision of services in the Two Zones.
