The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality jointly organized the inaugural landmark event of the "Invest in China" series in Beijing on March 26. During the event, Beijing announced the official launch of the "Global Service Partner Program" and gave plaques to nine entities recognized recently as regional headquarters of multinational corporations. This brings the total number of recognized regional headquarters in Beijing to 244.
Themed "New Opening-up in Beijing, New Opportunities for the World", this Beijing-exclusive event aimed to showcase the city's new advantages and opportunities for development on a global scale. Representatives of the national ministries and commissions of China introduced the relevant policies that had garnered attention from multinational corporations, while officials from the People's Government of Beijing Municipality highlighted the new opportunities for growth in the city.
Taking the opportunities brought by the construction of the "Two Zones" (the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and China (Beijing) Free Trade Zone), Beijing has actively aligned itself with international high-standard economic and trade regulations, while also expanding institutional opening-up. Over 50 groundbreaking nationwide policies have been implemented, successfully attracting and facilitating the implementation of several landmark and leading projects. Moreover, Beijing continuously introduces reformative measures to improve its business environment, ensuring high-quality and convenient services for business development. The city has also taken steps to improve the experiences of foreigners working, studying, living and travelling in Beijing, addressing even the smallest details. In terms of airport services, the city's two major airports have established payment service centers for overseas visitors, with plans to construct comprehensive airport service centers, to make sure that foreign visitors can enjoy integrated services concerning consultation, payment, tourism, transportation, and telecommunications, etc., as soon as they arrive in Beijing.
